BSU Business Etiquette Project

On October 12, 2009, SIFE collaborated with the Black Student Union (BSU) to carry out a project called Business Etiquette.  The purpose of this project was to educate students at Berea College about business etiquette, resume writing, and presentation skills.

Information regarding resume writing was presented with lectures and one-page informational handouts on resume writing. The event also had a “How To Dress For An Interview” segment, which was presented with a speaker and a slideshow. Then, a segment on do’s and don’ts of job interviews was presented. This was in a skit format, featuring two team members acting out the roles of interviewer and interviewee for the “good” and “bad” interview.

There were more than 25 students who attended the workshop. Audience members found this seminar to be helpful about the topics presented. Some comments about “What do you like best about the event” were:  “The speakers were great. Excellent choices!”;  “That everyone was engaged and how informing the event was”. SIFE looks forward to working with BSU more in the future.
