The Learning Center's Tipsheets
The Learning Center staff members have crafted an assortment of simple, user-friendly documents called “tipsheets” that separately deal with the specific needs of college writing and communication. The Learning Center’s tipsheet collection covers multiple subjects and is organized into topics including grammar, listening, oral communication, reading, research writing, study skills, and career communication.
Every year, the Learning Center staff reviews and improves these tipsheets in an effort to keep them up-to-date with the latest writing methods and rules. Also, if any subject or area is found lacking from the collection, the creation of a new tipsheet is assigned to the most appropriate staff member, and is then extensively peer reviewed before publication.
For years now, the Learning Center has been able to further assist students more effectively due to the success and widespread use of tipsheets. Not only do they serve as excellent introductory tools, but they have helped to increase student’s general knowledge of grammar, writing styles, and techniques. Overall, they have played an integral part in the success of the Learning Center’s mission.
