Enhancing Study Skills at the Learning Center
Unfortunately, about 20% of the people in your class will not return their sophomore year. you DON’T have to be part of that statistic.
The Top Reasons Students Drop out of College:
- Non-attendance. (This includes classes, labor, and convocations. Showing up is half the battle!)
- Students don’t find community and actively interact. (Get active in clubs, organizations and sports to stay stress-free and make lasting friends!)
- Not taking care of your health – physically and spiritually. (Getting enough sleep can be difficult, but is essential to success! Eat right and go to Health Services when you need to; that’s what it’s there for.)
- Not learning time management skills. (At Berea there are many activities to plan around. Use your time wisely, but know when to have fun and rest.)
- Being afraid to seek help!! (There are plenty of resources on campus when you need help. RA’s are not just there for taking away dorm privileges, they are students just like you and are there to talk. Go see professors during office hours. Help them see you are interested and willing to put forth the effort. COME VISIT US IN THE LEARNING CENTER!!)
