The Learning Center's Guide to English as a Second Language (ESL)

Since Berea College students come from all over the globe, many of the clients we deal with are ESL students. To serve these clients, we have consultants who have extra training in ESL issues.

Our college currently offers two ESL courses - ENG 103: ESL and American Culture, and ENG 104: Advanced ESL. These courses are designed to be taken alongside the GSTR 110 and/or GSTR 210 courses. The Learning Center collaborates with the professors who teach these courses, and our consultants are trained to help you become a better writer and communicator.

We also have resources at our library to help you understand and overcome grammatical errors in your writing.
