Faculty Course Development
Come in for course development and suggestions on pedagogical approaches, including work with:
- Course and curriculum development, including issues of course design, instructional technologies, assessment strategies; classroom etiquette
- Development of assignments and examinations
- Using midterm assessments to gather to student input
- Analysis of Instructor Evaluation Questionnaires (IEQs)
- In-class observations by Learning Center Associates
- Assistance with a variety of pedagogical approaches: active learning; collaborative learning; lectures; presentations; discussions; conferencing; computer-based resources
- Support for faculty-student interactions outside the classroom, including work with advising and mentoring, motivation and attitude, issues of diversity, academic integrity, and TA development
- Assistance in teaching written and oral communication, including the writing process, discipline-specific writing styles, research writing, peer review, assessment, techniques for teaching students to write, read, speak and listen effectively
- Resources for General Education courses, including course design, assignments, evaluation and assessment
