Computer Manager / Webmaster

  • Job Description:
    The following are the essential duties for the Computer Manager / Webmaster in the Learning Center:
    1. Overseeing computer use, by staff and clients.
    2. Removing unnecessary materials from hard drives.
    3. Keeping computers in good working order, including requesting help from IS&S when necessary.
    4. Maintaining Learning Center Website.
    5. Exploring new uses of computers (reviewing new software)
    6. Reviewing computer policy.
    7. Educating staff in computer use.
    8. Basic front desk duties.
    9. Performing other duties as directed by the Office Manager.

Historian

  • Grade Level:

  • Hours per Week:

  • Job Description:
    The following are the essential duties for the Historian in the Learning Center:
    1. Keeping a scrapbook of events at the Learning Center.
    2. Gathering and keeping accurate records of personal information on staff (birthdays, interests, hobbies, CPO, residence hall, extensions)
    3. Preparing monthly “Happy Birthday” fliers for staff.
    4. Taking or arranging staff photos (From activities, consultations, presentations, etc.)
    5. Keeping a copy of articles appearing in newspapers, correspondence praising the Learning Center.
    6. Working with Office Manager developing ideas for community building at the Learning Center.
    7. Maintaining alumni list.
    8. Basic front desk duties.
    9. Performing other duties as directed by the Office Manager.

Publicity Coordinator

  • Job Description:
    The following are the essential duties for the Publicity Coordinator in the Learning Center:
    1. Overseeing production of fliers, brochures and bookmarks.
    2. Designing or commissioning bulletin boards inside and outside of the Learning Center.
    3. Maintain the bulletin boards.
    4. Developing publicity for registration periods and throughout term.
    5. Stocking handouts, brochures, and bookmarks as needed.
    6. Organizing bulletin boards.
    7. Basic front desk duties.
    8. Performing other duties as directed by the Office Manager.

Office Assistant

  • Job Description:
    The following are the essential duties for the Office Assistant in the Learning Center:
    1. Organizing bulletin boards
    2. Maintaining office equipment including phones, computers, and supplies.
    3. Answering the phone and taking messages.
    4. Performing and/ or aiding in staff projects.
    5. Duplicating, typing and filing as necessary.
    6. Setting up for Learning Center Luncheons.
    7. Cleaning up after Learning Center Luncheons.
    8. Picking up mail at the CPO
    9. Taking outgoing mail to CPO
    10. Sorting mail
    11. Making monthly reports summarizing client visits
    12. Restocking office supplies
    13. Making coffee/hospitality duties
    14. Running errands as necessary.
    15. Light cleaning duties to maintain a professional and clean atmosphere.
    16. Ordering from printing services
    17. Performing other duties as directed by the Office Manager.

Office Manager

  • Job Description:
    1. The following are the essential duties for the Office Manager in the Learning Center:
      • Training and supervising work of Office Assistants, Public Relations coordinator, Computer Manager and Librarian.
      • Building a database on Learning Center use by students and faculty.
      • Monitoring office procedures including record-keeping, supplies, client files, materials files; reviewing and suggesting improvements.
      • Assessing use of space and quality of physical environment; planning for equipment, materials, and furniture needs.
      • Ordering office supplies
      • Going to Wal-Mart for additional supplies.
      • Monitoring lock-up, open-up, clean-up assignments, keys.
      • Previewing time logs; computing hours; monitoring work time entries.
      • Completing payroll in a timely manner.
      • Attending and sometimes overseeing weekly staff meetings.
      • Bulletin Boards.
      • Keeping the front desk calendar up to date.
      • Keeping track of who has missed work and making sure staff are rescheduling and finding people to work for them.
      • Weekly staff announcements.
