This series consists of correspondence, minutes of and reports to the Managers
/ Directors; yearly financial audits, deeds, bequests and leases; and publications
generated by the Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency—all of which detail the
philosophy, policies, operations, program, and staff at the Buckhorn Children’s
Center. While the inclusive dates of the series are 1954-1979; predominant dates
are 1956-1977. In addition, the series includes field studies and evaluations
conducted by outside organizations and graduate researchers from various universities.
There is also documentation on the relationship of the Buckhorn Children’s
Center to other private and state-supported social service agencies in Kentucky
and other states. The series is arranged alphabetically by format and subject.
