Provenance: In 1982, Executive Secretary Loren Kramer turned over the records of the organization to the Berea College Special Collections & Archives for preservation.

Most of the letters in this section are from the presidents of different settlement schools and from the leadership of SIA.

The majority of correspondence is written to or by Erwin C. Goering, Robert Rowland, and Loren Kramer. Most of Erwin Goering's correspondence was written between 1974-1976 and deals with issues and problems facing SIA. Robert Rowland's correspondence dates from about 1973-1974. Loren Kramer was executive secretary of SIA from 1976-1980, but his correspondence starts in1969.
