Education Abroad Peer Advisers
Thinking about studying abroad? Start the process by meeting with an Education Abroad Peer Adviser!
What is a Peer Adviser?
A Peer Adviser (PA) is a student who has previously studied abroad and who wishes to encourage other students to do the same. PAs offer an engaging student's perspective on the whole process. A PA should be the first person that prospective Education Abroad participants meet with (the Education Abroad Adviser can help with more specific details later on). PAs offer advice on selecting a program and information about funding. They also host monthly Education Abroad 101 sessions and other informational meetings, plus conduct classroom visits and presentations at labor meetings in other departments.
Who are the Peer Advisers?
For the 2009-2010 Academic Year, our Peer Advisers are Jessica Frazier, Siusan Buie, Kara George, and Kathryn Massana. Our PAs represent various majors, and their passports include stamps from Austria, China, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Spain, and Costa Rica.
When can I meet with a Peer Adviser?
Our Education Abroad Peer Advisers hold regular office hours for drop-in advising (some PAs may be available by appointment at other times).
