Students will discover the intricate weaving of Paris' past and present. Paris has so many stories to tell! Over the past two thousand years, it has witnessed major events in French history and showcased the leading art forms, as it grew from a fishing village on the Seine to become the "City of Light." Paris' stories are tragic, uplifting, shameful, and glorious ... and they are all told in its streets, monuments, museums, and churches as well as in its social and cultural life. Through substantial readings, personal exploration of the city, attendance at cultural events, and discussion and reflection, students will gain a deep understanding of Paris and its culture.

Prerequisites: Sophomore standing and permission of the instructors. Knowledge of French is not required.

Cost of Participation: TBA
