If a semester abroad is not an option for you, or you simply prefer to travel with a group of faculty and other students from Berea, a faculty-led Berea International Short Term course may be just what you are looking for. In recent years, these courses have been taught in Argentina, Burkina Faso, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Honduras, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Scotland, Switzerland, and Thailand.

All BIST courses award full academic credit and are carefully budgeted to make them affordable. A variety of scholarships and grants are available, and students can also apply for need-based grants and loans through Student Financial Aid Services.

Students selected for BIST courses are required to participate in a series of pre-departure orientation meetings. Students who do not attend these mandatory orientation meetings or who are placed on probation of any kind cannot participate in BIST courses, even if already selected.

How to Apply

See the each BIST course page for application deadline and instructions.
