(Ends 12/19/14) Made In Appalachia: Beyond Cabins, Crafts, and Coal
(Exhibitions)

Explore Appalachian material culture beyond the stereotypical artifacts that come from mountain cabins, craft traditions, and coal towns. Artifacts from the Appalachian Studies Teaching Collection, combined with stories and photos, explore the region as ground zero for synthetic materials, an important center in America's chemical industry, America's first center for iron and aluminum production, the source of many important food products, a glass-making center, the origin of bottled Coca-Cola, and much, much more.

The LJAC Gallery's public exhibit hours are weekdays 9:00am-5:00pm, closed Berea College holidays and occasionally when the gallery is in use for teaching.
