Peanut Butter & Gender-Gender Talk
(Educational Opportunity)

Tabias Olajuawon and Marquis Bey will present.

"Ungendering Black Fugitivity: jayy dodd and the Question of Black Trans Feminism."

Through a meditation on jayy dodd, a Black nonbinary trans femme writer and poet, this talk asks what Black trans feminism might mean. It proceeds by meditating on what, to dodd, it means to be "blxck," their own idiosyncratic spelling for "Black;" to be trans, a transness that is always already what dodd calls a "peak blackness"; and to be feminist, or a fraught feminism that resides in the radical praxis of illegibly inscribing otherwise ways of being. In short, the talk will discuss Blackness and its work on gender.
