T.R.U.T.H. Talks: Symbols of Patriotism
(Educational Opportunity)

True Racial Understanding through Honest Talks are collaborative programs conducted in conjunction with:

Black Cultural Center
Campus Life and
other Berea faculty, staff and student organizations.

Truth Talks are an opening for dialogue that does not aim to provide a concrete solution for issues in the world. Instead, it anticipates to change the perceptions of students, faculty and staff, and community members by providing information for them to continue the conversation. These talks are a call and response to issues in society worth discussing; there is no limit to what is considered worthy.

This will be achieved by simulating a Truth Talk focused on the current controversies surrounding the U.S. National Anthem, U.S. Flag and statues. DPET will prepare a brief presentation on the role that these have had in changing the way we look at sporting events and public parks in this political climate.
