"The Black Radical Tradition, Food Justice, and Hip Hop
Methodologies" -Speaker: DR. BREEZE HARPER Co-sponsored with Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
Dr. Breeze Harper, author of Sistah Vegan, will discuss the work of African American vegans who have been deeply influenced by hip hop methodologies/methods in how they engage in food justice, sustainability, and fighting against systemic racism/anti-Blackness within the USA. Dr. Harper will discuss how this engagement is a continuum of the Black Radical Tradition which historically has fought against not just anti-Black racism, but capitalism and other systemic inequities that deeply and negatively impact non-white people in the USA.
