Nie Er in Life and Death: Sonic Nationalism and China's Revolutionary Music

University of Mississippi historian and musician Joshua Howard will present his research on the life and work of the Chinese composer Nie Er (1912-1935), whose "March of the Volunteers" is the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. Co-sponsored by the History Department.
