Film: Tangerine
(Educational Opportunity)

A new feminist film series, "The Independent Woman and Her Erotic Freedom?", kicks off with a showing of Tangerine (2015), directed by Sean Baker.

It's Christmas Eve in Tinseltown and Sin-Dee (Kitana Kiki Rodriguez), a transgender prostitute, is back on the block. Upon hearing that her pimp boyfriend (James Ransone) has cheated on her with a cisgender woman during the 28 days she was locked up, Sin-Dee and her best friend, Alexandra (Mya Taylor), embark on a mission to get to the bottom of the scandalous rumor. Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles.
