"How to Build a Country From Scratch: The Story of East Timor"

Monday, Nov. 28, 2016
Woods Penn Commons
6:00 PM
Free and open to the public

A delicious Southeast Asia-inspired light dinner will be served.

In 2002, East Timor was war-torn, depleted of resources, and a brand new country. Carolyn Robinson was there with the U.N. teaching workshops and helping create the very first broadcasting station.

Carolyn is a US-based trainer, journalist, consultant and project leader, specializing in human rights, media development, migrants and investigative journalism. Robinson worked as a reporter or project leader for ICFJ/USAID, Internews, BBC, Al Jazeera, CNN and PBS. She is currently based in New York City and works at Solutions Journalism, a non-profit that focuses on stories about how society and media is responding effectively to its problems.
