Dinner on the Grounds with Lisa Elmaleh Photography, Process, & Passion

Thursday, December 3rd
12:00-1:00 p.m.
Free & Open to the Public
Loyal Jones Appalachian Center Gallery
Light Lunch Provided (starting at 11:45)

Lisa Elmaleh's work is an exploration of rural America. Using a portable darkroom in the back of her truck, she captures beautiful images that would otherwise be forgotten. Based in West Virginia, and teaching at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Elmaleh and her large-format camera (named Fitzgerald Fitzwilliam Fitzgeorge) go on many adventures together. She photographs using the nineteenth century wet plate collodion process. This presentation will explore her passion as a photographer and the method she has chosen to produce her photos.

This will also be a near final opportunity to view her work on exhibit at the Center.

We hope to see you at this last Dinner on the Grounds of 2015!
