Fiction-Writing Workshop
(Educational Opportunity)

"The Importance of Emotional Honesty and Urgency in Fiction"
This workshop will focus on finding those critical light-bulb moments in our lives that provide excellent fodder for fiction. The workshop will include brief sample readings, group discussion, and writing exercises. Led by Marie Manilla, who will also read from and discuss her work.

West Virginia native Marie Manilla is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Her books include Still Life with Plums: Short Stories (2010), Shrapnel (2012), and The Patron Saint of Ugly (forthcoming June 2014).

This workshop will replace Wednesday's Creative Writing Practice. All writers are urged to attend the workshop!
