(Educational Opportunity)

Please join us for a Creative Writing Workshop on Wednesday, October 9. The workshop will feature Marie Manilla, "The Importance of Emotional Honesty and Urgency in Fiction". This workshop will focus on finding those critical light-bulb moments in our lives that provide excellent fodder for fiction. The class will include brief sample readings, group discussion, and writing exercises. Manilla will also read from and discuss her work.

West Virginia native Marie Manilla is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Her books include Still Life with Plums: Short Stories (2010), Shrapnel (2012), and The Patron Saint of Ugly (forthcoming June 2014).
