Michael Adams

Michael Adams, a Kentucky native, is a Junior English major with a concentration in literature at Berea College. During the regular year, he works as a peer consultant at the college’s Learning Center. He is a member of Berea’s Vincit Qui Patitur honor society and a 2006 recipient of the Dr. William Taylor Center Memorial Award for writing. Michael is a poet who, after graduation, would like to write and teach, preferably at the college level.

Mary Rush

Mary Rush, from Lorain, OH, is a senior English major with a concentration in writing at Berea College. For the 2006-2007 school year, Mary is working as the student editor of BCnow, Berea College's online news portal. Mary is active in the Black Music Ensemble and was a member of Berea’s 2005 intercollegiate volleyball team. She has made the Dean’s List several times, and is a member of Berea College’s Fleur de Lis and Vincit Qui Patitur honor societies, as well as the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Mary’s post-graduation plans are yet to be determined, but she would like to pursue a career in technical writing or business communications.

Appalachian Heritage is part of the Appalachian Center of Berea College.
