Cherokee High School, on the Qualla Boundry is the home of a splendid array of exceedingly talented artists. They are nurtured by the school’s art teacher, Reba Elders, herself also an artist of extraordinary talent. Their artwork will be on display at the Appalachian Studies Conference when it meets at Cherokee High School in March. The artists may be contacted c/o Cherokee High School, Cherokee, North Carolina, 28719. We are grateful to them and to everyone else who helped us illustrate this issue so strikingly.

Appalachian Heritage is part of the Appalachian Center of Berea College.
