Friday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. —Billy Edd Wheeler, a Berea College alumnus of the Class of 1955 and the Featured Author, Artist, and Performer, for the Winter 2008 issue of Appalachian Heritage, will read in the Commons of the Woods-Penniman Building on the Berea College Campus in celebration of this issue. This event comes several months after the Winter issue has been printed so that it falls in conjunction with the Berea College Alumni Reunion weekend and also so that Billy Edd will have recovered from surgery on his vocal chords. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the reading will begin at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 14 – Mountain Heritage Literary Festival, Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate, Tennessee. The festival will feature Lee Smith as the keynote speaker.
