Tuesday, October 16—Dorothy Foltz-Gray, writer for O, The Oprah Magazine and others, will lead a workshop titled "Writing for Magazines: Queries that Work" for people who want to learn how to target ideas and write successful queries to national magazine editors. Friday, October 26—The 2007 Bill Russell River Hero Award will be awarded to Wilma Dykeman, who passed away last December at the age of 86. The Tennessee Clean Water Network’s Bill Russell River Hero Award honors those who strive to protect, restore and enhance the watersheds of Tennessee and the communities that depend on them.
