Saturday, June 2, 1:00 p.m.— The Clinch River Days Festival Committee announces a literary reading to take place at the Oxbow Center in St. Paul. Jane Hicks, Rita Quillen, Joe Tennis, and Peter Crow will read selections from their works. For more details, please call Neva Hamilton at 276-762-5619.

Thursday, June 7th—Highland Summer Conference, Radford University, Radford, Virginia. Appalachian Heritage will have a display available.

Saturday, June 9th & Sunday, June 10th—West Virginia Writers, Cedar Lakes Conference Center, Ripley, West Virginia. Appalachian Heritage editor, George Brosi, will lead sessions on "How One Editor Evaluates Writing about Appalachia" and "Appalachian Literature: It's Evolution and Present Challenges." Also available will be a display of Appalachian Heritage.

Saturday, June 16—The Appalachian Heritage Alliance held an all day workshop as part of their Appalachian Circuit Writers Project at the Magoffin County Library in Kentucky. George Ella Lyon was the workshop leader.

Sunday, June 17–Friday, August 3—The Split Rock Arts Program will hold its Summer Workshops on the Twin Cities campus. Workshops are three-day or weeklong and cover poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction. Frank X Walker will be a workshop leader.

Friday, June 22-Sunday, June 24, 2007—The second annual Mountain Heritage Literary Festival will be at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Staff will include Catherine Landis, Sharon Hatfield, Rita Quillen, and Paul Brett Johnson. Earl Hamner, Jr. will also give an opening address.

Appalachian Heritage is part of the Appalachian Center of Berea College.
