Monday, June 2 – Tuesday, June 13—The 26th annual Highland Summer Conference at Radford University will be held. Public readings by the class lecturers and other guest authors are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm in Heth Hall Commonwealth Room.

Wednesday, June 4—Morehead State University will present The Chaffin Award for Outstanding Contribution to Appalachian Literature in 2002 to Silas House at a luncheon ceremony.
Wednesday, June 4—Coffee Tree Books in Morehead, Kentucky will present several authors signing their books all afternoon.
Thursday, June 5—Appalachian writer Ron Rash will be featured in the Heth Hall Commonwealth Room at Radford University at 7:30 pm.
