Come join us for a celebration of the Winter 2010 issue this Friday, March 12, 2010!

Appalachian Heritage will be hosting a reading with the Winter 2010 featured author, Pinckney Benedict, this Friday at the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center Gallery in the Bruce Building on the campus of Berea College. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 7:30 p.m. and the reading will start at 8:00 p.m. For more information, you can contact us here at the Appalachian Heritage office by calling 859-985-3559.

Pinckney Benedict is a native of Greenbrier County, West Virginia, and an author whose highly-acclaimed books have all been translated and made available in multiple European editions. Recipient of both the Pushcart and O. Henry Prizes for his short stories, several of his books, novels, and short story collections have also been named New York Times Notable Books. Benedict now teaches creative writing at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
