Appalachian Heritage loves being part of the vibrant literary community in the Appalachian South. Below is a list of upcoming events where we will offer a display of Appalachian Heritage. We hope to see you at one of these events. Feel free to invite us to participate in an event you are planning.

Tuesday, June 10– Highland Summer Conference, Radford University, Radford, Virginia. Poet and essayist Dana Wildsmith will have a reading the night Appalachian Heritage is at the conference.

Saturday, June 14 – Mountain Heritage Literary Festival, Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate, Tennessee. The festival will feature Lee Smith as the keynote speaker. Read more.

Tuesday, June 24 – National Endowment for the Humanities Seminar on Appalachia, Ferrum College, Ferrum, Virginia

Friday, July 11—Sunday, July 13 – Berea Craft Festival, Indian Fort Mountain, Berea, Kentucky. Read more.

Sunday, July 27—Friday, August 1 – Appalachian Writers Workshop, Hindman Settlement School, Hindman, Kentucky. Read more.

Thursday, October 11—Friday, October 12 – West Virginia Book Festival, Civic Center, Charleston, West Virginia. George Brosi, Editor of Appalachian Heritage, will present a program, ”The Latest in Appalachian Literature,” on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m. in Parlor B. Read more.
